Good health management practices include: buying healthy, disease free unstressed livestock; early detection and treatment of sick animals; preventing stress with well designed structures and treatment; and establishing diagnosis and treatment practices with your veterinarian.

Anthrax is caused by bacteria known as Bacillus anthracis.

Who can report livestock abuse or neglect?

Any intensive livestock operation requiring the consumption of 5,000 m³ (1.1 million imperial gallons) of water, roughly equivalent to what 300 animal units would use annually, requires approval of the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority (SWA).

West Nile Virus clinical signs relate to the central nervous system, because the virus causes an encephalomyelitis or brain and spinal cord infection.
