It is estimated that Saskatchewan's forage processors exported $24 million worth of processed forage feed products in 2007.

Saskatchewan has become the world's largest exporter of green lentils and the world's second largest producer. It is grown to improve economic returns to producers, diversify and lengthen crop rotations, and reduce the requirement for nitrogen fertilizer.
