The University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon is one of only two in Canada that has a metabolic unit for conducting clinical trials for food products.

Saskatchewan's $2.0 billion food and beverage industry is the largest processing and manufacturing sector in the province. Saskatchewan's products are among the finest in the world and comprise an array of traditional, specialty and new food products.

The Agri-Value Program encourages the development and expansion of Saskatchewan's agri-businesses by providing assistance for new product development and market assessment.

Alfalfa forage is harvested and prepared for processing in one of two ways.

The objective of this study is to provide Saskatchewan Agriculture insight and knowledge about how audit services can be delivered to the province's agriculture and food processing industry.

"Development of a sustainable biodiesel industry in Saskatchewan based on renewable biomass and a core industry around which to develop products that can be used domestically and exported competitively to support economic and climate change objectives. Core values around the start and development of the Saskatchewan biodiesel industry are biased towards rural Saskatchewan providing an equitable share of benefits to primary producers."

The study includes the impacts of crop and livestock production and food manufacturing in the province.
