Crops statistical data on area, yield, production and prices.
On May 16, 2007 Census Canada released the Agriculture 2006 Census Data. Data specific to Saskatchewan on various topics has been summarized in Census StatFacts.

The first map listed below indicates the average Corn Heat Units. The second map indicates the Corn Heat Units one can expect nine years out of ten.

The Crop Report is a weekly summary of Saskatchewan crop conditions and precipitation during the growing season, starting April 1st each year and running for approximately 27 weeks.

Statistics Canada's November production survey of principal field crops estimates 2007 Saskatchewan production at 23.43 million tonnes.

The feed industry is concentrated in the Prairies, Ontario and Quebec, with the majority of forage processing being centered in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Statistics Canada's 2007 Production and Value of Honey and Maple Products Survey estimates Saskatchewan honey production at 5,819 tonnes, an decrease of 49 per cent from the 2006 production of 11,343 tonnes, and a 34 per cent decline from the 2002-2006 average of 8,755 tonnes.

The pulse industry in Western Canada has experienced tremendous growth. Total Western Canadian pulse crop production in 2004-05 was 4.36 million tonnes - an increase of 62 per cent from the previous year’s production of 2.80 million tonnes (Source: AAFC).

Statistics Canada's March 31 survey of farm stocks of major grains and oilseeds estimated Saskatchewan farm stocks of crops at 7.04 million tonnes - down 3.03 million tonnes (30%) from revised March, 2006 farm stocks of 10.07 million tonnes.

Statistics Canada's March 2008 survey of seeding intentions indicates that Saskatchewan farmers plan to seed 32.8 million acres to the major grains, oilseeds, and specialty crops.
