Saskatchewan Licensed Domestic Game Farm Operators Licensed Domestic Game Farm OperatorsDecember 2011 All Saskatchewan domestic game farm operators are licensed and regulated according to The Domestic Game Farm Animal Regulations under The Animal Products Act. The following species are farmed as domestic game farm animals: antelope, caribou, elk, fallow deer, moose, mule deer, reindeer, white-tailed deer, bighorn sheep, thinhorn sheep, mouflon sheep, musk deer and mountain goats. To obtain a domestic game farm licence, you must submit a Domestic Game Farm Licence Application form and a Saskatchewan Cervid Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Surveillance Enrollment Form. A Sakatchewan domestoc game farm licence is valid for five years, expiring on December 31st of the fifth year. When your property has been purged of all wildlife and inspected and approved by a Game Farm Inspector, you may be issued a licence and allowed to stock with game farm animals. A game farm operator can be identified by three letters, known as the herd prefix, which are chosen when the application is completed. These letters will be printed on a plastic identification ear tag put into a game farm animal. Metal tags are also used, but will not show the herd prefix. A second tag of your choice is also required. The information accessible through this site has been compiled from the original records kept in the office of the Livestock Branch, Regina, and includes all active licensed domestic game farm operators in Saskatchewan.
