There are three ethanol plants currently operating in Saskatchewan, producing 167 million litres a year.

Saskatchewan producers are raising emus and ostriches. Some products include: meat, feathers, oil extraction (rhea), leather (ostrich and emu). The European Union and Japan are the major global consumers of these meat products, and tend to import large quantities from all parts of the world.
